I am writing this letter to remind you that not all of your residents live along the W&OD Bike path. That said, it would be great if sometimes, just sometimes, you finished a bike path, instead of illogically ending it in the middle of nowhere.
I was elated to see that you extended the path behind my house in the woods along Braddock Road. I rode and rode, happy as a little clam. I even rode with my legs flailing out to the side to show my sheer joy at riding my bike along a new path. Then 3.76 miles into my ride, I came to an abrupt stop. I had to stop because the path ended in the middle of nowhere. I had three choices: I could turn around; I could bushwhack my way through the woods and find another path home, or I could brave traffic, cross the street and ride along the side of the road. Since I prefer not to lose my limbs to the Northern Virginia drivers who have ZERO awareness of bikers along the road, I bushwhacked my way to another path. And guess what I found? The path ended in the woods and then about 1/2 mile away, it started up again. How is this logical? Was it really that much more expensive to make the two paths meet? I’m just curious.
While I realize your lives would be a whole lot easier if we all lived along the W&OD path, but we don’t.. so please help us out. Build some paths that the rest of us can ride on.
Thanks!

Nothing about No Va is logical. ie. Loudoun County Parkway.

They probably figured… why bother finishing this path ‘cuz we’re just gonna build another subdivision in its place soon anyway!
