Yes Martha, I Ate the Whole Thing

And by whole thing, I mean I ate everything.

I mean I ate this. And it. Was. Amazing.

This is my burger from Ray’s Hell Burger in Arlington. I am a big fan of simplicity in my food. I don’t need a lot of fancy pants toppings, I just want fresh food that is tasty. Needless to say, I was very happy with my burger. They even grind the meat right there. A fact, I’m sure, that is going to make others cringe; it was really nice to know the burger is that fresh. The ingredients are top notch and the choice of toppings is more varied than I expected.

I ordered mine medium well, no spices, with mushrooms and muenster cheese. The corn was sweet and perfectly cooked (not soggy) and the watermelon was juicy. I topped it all off with an Old Dominion root beer.

I’m definitely going to go back. I just need to get hungry again. Someday.

  • But the bun! It falls apart…unacceptable.

You are right though; the meat is top notch. Also, high five to another muenster lover.

  • Good review. I will have to check it out — I just had my first Elevation Burger a week or so ago.

  • You’re right, the bun could’ve been tastier. Homemade would’ve made the difference.

  • Amen. Here’s to simple, unpretentious food. And everything else, for that matter. Life’s just better when we peel away the unnecessary layers of complexity.

We used to go to a place called Fuddruckers on our Florida vacations that reminds me very much of Ray’s Hell Burger. The kids were very upset when it went out of business.

Last year, we managed to find a Fuddruckers somewhere in Tennessee on the drive home. The look on their faces when we pulled up was priceless. It was every bit as good as the original.

  • Thanks for the link. In regards to the bun, that bun looks denser and better than what they were using when we went shortly after they opened. Looks like ML might have addresses those concerns.

  • Mmmmm… *love* a good cheeseburger.
